Ultimate Guide to 1 Day in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Updated: Aug 2, 2023

It's summertime and nothing represents the essence of this time better than a beach does! Myrtle Beach! A classic beach destination that we have probably all heard of at least once! It's located at the heart of South Carolina's Grand Strand and is a timeless beach destination. While the iconic Myrtle Beach SkyWheel and oceanfront boardwalk are typically the center of attention, this coastal city offers so many attractions beyond just sunbathing and swimming. Besides its expansive beaches, Myrtle Beach has amazing views, family-oriented entertainment, and a diverse culinary scene. The area also has wonderful Southern charm which allows for a relaxed pace of life that encourages living in the present moment.

Thinking of heading to Myrtle Beach or actually going to Myrtle Beach soon and in need of an itinerary? Here I hope to give you the ultimate 1 day itinerary to plan your trip accordingly!

  • Beach Cafe Restaurant - After driving in, we grabbed a bite to eat here! We enjoyed the gorgeous outdoor dining and view of the water. It's also dog friendly! Which was a huge plus because my boyfriend and I did bring our pup! I ordered the buffalo shrimp which were HUGE and very filling. My boyfriend ordered wings and enjoyed them!

  • Myrtle Beach Boardwalk - SOOOO much to do here. This truly does fill your entire day as it offers plenty of walking around and activities. Bring good walking shoes because the entire boardwalk is allll walking! Lots of good eats, snacks, fun, and shops! At the time that we came in, there was a car show going on throughout the boardwalk. To my understanding, on weekends, they typically have different events going on for the public to enjoy, free of charge! If you decide to go to the boardwalk, be prepared to have your day filled for you! Always a good idea and always fun.

  • Banditos Cantina - WE LOVED IT HERE. There are not enough stars to give this place. From the ambience, to the views, to the food, everything was 100% AMAZING. I ordered the nachos and they were 10/10. I also ordered a mango margarita and it was soooo delicious. My boyfriend ordered a variety of they tacos and enjoyed them! This is also another dog friendly place with an outdoor dining area that is enclosed with clear plastic covers that way you still get to see the beautiful views of the ocean but you also get to enjoy the cool fans/AC of the indoors.

  • Myrtle Beachfront - After walking all along the boardwalk, we decided to walk onto the beachfront and spend some time by the water. The sand was soft, clean, and felt amazing on our feet! The water was nice and refreshing. Highly recommend just enjoying the beach for a bit!

XOXO,

Tess
