Ultimate Guide to 3 Days in Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, Georgia had been on my travel radar for quite some time! I was able to cross this location (as well as a new state) off my list a couple of weeks ago! My boyfriend and I took a little "escape from reality" trip and it was everything we needed! To be quite honest, Atlanta gave me major Houston/big city vibes! Nonetheless, it was a good change of scenery that we both needed. Not to mention, the sweet tea was AMAZING and consistent everywhere we went!! Alright, lets jump right into it. I am going to share what my boyfriend and I did each day in Atlanta and also a short list of things we didn't get to do, but if we had more time (and better weather), we would have!

Day 1:

  • We checked into our hotel - We stayed at Hampton Inn Atlanta GA Tech. The hotel was beautiful and close to a ton of the activities we pursued!

  • Ponce City Market - GORGEOUS and neat area! Definitely Austin vibes! There are eating places and shops inside. If you make your way to the very top floor, you'll find Skyview Park which is basically a mini amusement/theme park.

  • Tacos & Tequila - Mexican restaurant that we found right across Ponce City Market. I know South Texas Mexican food is hard to beat but this came pretty darn close! 10/10!

That wrapped up our first day, we didn't have a ton of time being that by the time we checked into our hotel and got settled in, it was already 4 pm. We also made sure to take our time at Ponce City Market and take in the interesting atmosphere and ambience!

Day 2:

  • Mello Mushroom - Amazing pizza and spinach dip!

  • Georgia Acquarium - A MUST! Especially since this is the #1 Acquarium in the U.S.! Did not disappoint. Tickets were $35 each.

  • World of Coca-Cola - For this, we did not actually purchase tickets to go in but we did walk inside and around it. Pretty neat and something interesting to see!

  • Centennial Olympic Park - This was actually closed due to COVID-19, however, you can still walk all around it and take pics with the iconic Olympic rings!

  • National Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum - Again this was one that we did not actually purchase tickets for but instead just briefly walked around inside and explored the monuments that were outside of it.

  • CNN Studios - Okay this was really cool to walk past! And it's huge!! I'm ready for my close-up!

  • Chick-Fil-A College Football Hall of Fame - Another really cool and neat thing that you can only find in Atlanta. Definitely a must for all you sport fans!

  • The Yard Milkshake Bar - AMAZING huge milkshakes/sundaes! 10/10 recommend! Will satisfy your sweet tooth!

  • Man vs. Fries - We ended with a door dash sponsored dinner. We heard of the incredible/different foods that Man vs. Fries had to offer and it did not disappoint. If you like anything with fries, cheese, and/or Hot Cheetos, this is for you!

Day 3:

  • Atlantic Station - Outdoor shopping center but was highly recommended by our Uber Drivers! Neat to see and fun to walk around! Gives off good vibes and good atmosphere!

  • Milennium Gate - Beautiful building! There is a museum that can be found under the actual Milennium Gate but we didn't go in. We were taken by how beautiful and big this monument is. Across it is also this cute little pond, park, and bridge.

  • Phipps Plaza - This one was fun because it is full of top notch designer stores! Gucci, Versace, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and more can all be found here. The very top floor has Legoland also!

  • Lenox Square - Indoor mall with various floors!

Our third day was drizzling most all day and extremely cold so we scurried to do all our activities. We still made the most of it and laughed along the way at how this would be our luck for our last day of our trip!

Some places we wish we had more time and better weather to do go and do was:

  • Piedmont Park - Beautiful park with beautiful views!

  • Atlanta Beltline - Recommended by our Uber drivers!

  • Jackson Street Bridge - Neat bridge with an overlook of the city!

To wrap this blog up, Atlanta was a blast. So much to see and do. It does cost to do literally anything. This is one of those places where there are not as many "free to do" activities but it was still worth it. Would it make my Top 10 must visit cities list? Not necessarily but it's close. It is somewhere where I do think everyone needs to visit at least once to see the change in culture and scenery. Definitely a must if you love big city vibes!

Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you are planning a trip or thinking of planning a trip to Atlanta! I would love to give you more detailed information!

Can you guess where I'm off to next?! Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C. with my brothers next month for their birthday trip!

Stay tuned and as always....

XOXO,

Tess
