When thinking of where to travel next, the East Coast has always been in the back of my mind. But where in the East Coast, always remained the question. Baltimore, Maryland was easy to choose not just because the flights were cheap, but because the city has a little bit of everything. It's easy to see why it's called "Charm City". From great seafood, sports, beautiful harbor, lively night scene, historical museums, and prestigious universities. My two brothers, his girlfriend, and I, spent 2 days in Baltimore and it was definitely enough time to explore the city. This blog is part of 1 of 5 blogs to follow. In this whole trip alone, we traveled 4 states and Washington, DC. I am giving each location their own blog because in each one, we did so much! As you keep reading, you'll find what we did each day!
Day 1:
We picked up our rental car - Renting a car was only fitting because all of the East Coast states are so close together that you can drive an hour or two and be in a completely different state! We rented with Enterprise. Highly recommend renting at a location OTHER THAN THE AIRPORT. If we were to rent from the Airport's Enterprise, it would've been 2x more expensive. What we did was we Ubered to the nearest Enterprise location and rented from there, much cheaper!
We checked into our hotel - We stayed at Sheraton Inner Harbor which was the perfect location because it was walking distance from the harbor, amazing restaurants, and had so much do around it.
Inner Harbor - We walked around inner harbor and the wharf! Everything you can think of, is in this area. It's right on the water and there's ships, ice skating, shops, and restaurants. We ate at Cheesecake Factory, which was in one of the plazas!
Fells Point - Driving and walking around Fells Point was beautiful! You'll come across the iconic neighborhood where each house is painted in a pretty bright color. Walking around is neat too because you'll get to see all of these monuments scattered around, neat boutiques and locally owned shops/eateries.
Camden Yards - This is the Baltimore Orielle's baseball park and it's definitely something cool to slowly drive or walk around. We drove around this area and not only can you acknowledge the beauty of the stadium, but there are also some restaurants surrounding the stadium too! I can only imagine how it is on game days!
M&T Bank Stadium - This is the Baltimore Raven's football stadium. Highly recommend driving or walking around this stadium at night when it's beautifully lit up. It's gorgeous! Just something really cool to see for all my sport fans out there. I love visiting the stadiums of the state/city I'm in.
Hampden - Lots of record stores, gift shops, coffee shops and Italian cuisine on this strip. It was neat to walk around if you're into vintage, aesthetic, antique vibes.

Day 2:
Baltimore Historical Monuments - We drove all around Baltimore, cruising around the beautiful city and in cruising, we discovered and explored so many historical and breath taking monuments!
Federal Hill Park - My goodness this was a 10/10 must do!! Walk up to the top of this park to get the most beautiful view of Baltimore! From the water, to ships docked, to skyscrapers, you can see it all from up here! It was snowing while we were here so it was a complete winter wonderland.
Riverside Taphouse: Definitely recommend this locally owned restaurant! The lamb truffle cheesesteak was to die for! The place itself is a bit on the smaller side so be sure to call ahead!
George Peabody Library: This is something we did not get to do because of their COVID-19 hours but was extremely high on our list! It is a beautiful, HUGE, historical public library. Look it up and you'll be amazed and in awe.
The Gallery - Popular and recommended mall across from the Wharf with everything from local shops to well known shops such as Forever 21 and H&M. The layout of the mall is pretty neat as there are huge windows all around the mall which allow you to look outside with a beautiful view of the harbor, no matter what floor you're on.

All in all, we enjoyed all the sights and activities Baltimore had to offer. Everything we did was free of charge, which was a huge plus. It was our first time renting a car in a different state (partly because none of us are 25 yet and we've been hesitant about the expensive young renter fee) but it was SO EASY to find parking everywhere in Baltimore. And parking was very cheap. Most meters cost no more than $2.00 per hour. If someone were to ask me "I'm thinking of planning a trip or traveling to Baltimore, what do you think?", my answer would be "A million times yes, go for it. You will not be disappointed."
Please feel free to reach out to me if you are considering traveling to Baltimore and/or need more guidance in planning your trip out! I enjoy helping ya'll! Be on the lookout for next week's Washington, DC blog!
As always,
XOXO, Tess
